Go Go Goa!

How often have we all gone to Goa or any other place with a beach for that matter and shied away when it came to trying a new water sport because we were “not feeling up to it” or because we just wanted to “relax on the beach”?

Aquaphobia is a very common fear that is experienced by many. It may be because of the fear of the unknown, the fear of drowning or a bad past experience. The good news though is that the fear of water can be overcome. Learning to sail can be one such way of getting over one’s fears.

Sailing is an invigorating sport that offers many rewards, not the least of which is that it’s simply so much fun. Learning how to sail can be so fulfilling and can foster such a sense of accomplishment together with confidence.

By learning how to not fear the water anymore, one would be in a better position to take complete advantage of their time in Goa. Because let’s face it, being another face in the crowd visiting cliched tourist places is not why one should ideally go to Goa. That is what Rajasthan is for. The number of water sports that Goa has to offer be it kayaking, windsurfing, jet skiing or snorkelling cannot be found anywhere else in India together.

So, let’s carpe diem and finally have that Goa trip that is more than just alcohol and partying because at the end of the day, having the thrill of the water is a much better experience to take back than a hangover.
