Children on the Water

The training for children is undertaken by Honorary Captain (Retired) Rajesh Choudhary. ‘Chou’, as he is popularly referred to in the sailing circuit. He has sailed extensively in India and overseas, is an Arjuna Awardee, a multiple medal winner at the Asian Games, Asian Sailing Championships and National Championships in sailing and has had a coaching career with the Indian Army spanning 20+ years.

Basic Level

This is ideal for children between the ages 8-15 years who have no previous sailing background or knowledge. This is a great way to experience and be introduced to the sport and learn all the Basic Sailing Skills while having fun on and off the water.

The School which is an accredited Training Centre of the National Sports Federation for Yachting (The Yachting Association of India) adheres to all the syllabi and training/safety norms for conduct of the above Learn to Sail Camps. A Basic Skills Level 1 Certificate of the Yachting Association of India is awarded to the child at the end of the camp.

Advanced Sailing Programme and Optimist Events

Students who have completed the Basic Training Program, achieved a minimum level of proficiency in the sport or if have trained elsewhere; have demonstrated a basic level of having achieved the skills expected in the Basic Course.

Joining the Advanced Sailing Programme will be at the discretion of the Head Coach after a thorough understanding of the sailor’s skills. This is ideal for sailors who want to improve their skills and go on to participate at the district, state, national and international level competitive events or just want to learn more and enjoy the sport. The curriculum is designed to suit the needs of children with an aim to enjoy the sport of sailing, create bonding amongst the children and teach them the ‘sailing way of life’ while learning and progressing in the sport.

We expect commitment from the participants with respect to their regular attendance and you can expect our undivided attention and commitment towards helping them improve their boat handling and racing skills. Advanced Level training is conducted every weekend, on both Saturday as well as Sunday from 1400-1800 H and twice a week on weekdays ie Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1600-1800 H.
